Under the Blessing of Confucius, May All Students Be Protected — A Message from the Founder

Under the Blessing of Confucius, May All Students Be Protected — A Message from the Founder

I am from Pingyao, and my mother has been a Chinese language teacher for many years, dedicating her career to mentoring graduating students.

Since I was a child, every exam season, school entrance season, I watched my mother lead batch after batch of students to Pingyao Confucian Temple. They would light incense, offer prayers, and kneel before Confucius, whispering their hopes—praying for success, smooth exams, and a bright future.

As a child, I didn’t understand. How could offering incense to an ancient sage affect reality?

But my mother said: “With diligence and perseverance, no effort is wasted. May Confucius bless generations of students, guiding them to find the right path in life, cultivating virtue, and becoming pillars of society.”

Her eyes were firm. Year after year, rain or shine, she would bring her students to the temple. She believed that this was not just about praying—it was a spiritual practice, a way to solidify one’s aspirations.

🔖 It was only after growing up that I truly understood.

I learned about “a hundred years to cultivate a person,” about “literature as a vehicle of morality,” about “continuing the legacy of the sages and opening peace for generations,” about “May the youth of China cast off their indifference and only move forward... If there is no torch, then I shall be the only light!”

Then I understood my mother’s intentions.

This ancient temple, built in the Tang Dynasty, not only honors Confucius but also carries the hopes of countless students across centuries.

Teachers are like parents, and students are like their children. My mother wished for her students to have boundless futures, borrowing the power of Confucius’ blessings to help them soar high.

✨ Now that I have grown up, I want to carry forward this tradition.

📜 I wish to share this temple with the world, allowing students, overseas scholars, exam takers, professionals, and officials to receive the same blessings.

📖 Our local book club members will conduct proxy prayers, offering incense and sending wishes on behalf of students worldwide.

May Confucius bless all students, and may all those who chase dreams ride the wind and reach greater heights.
